Vic Masters - A new era

Hockey Victoria are thrilled to announce the appointment of Bill West to the newly created position of Masters Coordinator.
Well known to the hockey community, Bill joins the staff at HV in a part-time role, servicing the needs of the existing Masters programs, whilst also searching for new ways to engage our members that fall into the Masters realm.
Primarily, Bill’s focus will centre around the state teams. Our Masters State Team program has a rich history of participation and success. Our goal will be to both grow the participation numbers and enhance our annual medal count, as well as national team representation.
Over time, we will look to further develop the participation rate of our Masters members, create new, exciting and engaging ways in which the community can “stay hockey active”.
Hockey Victoria sees the creation of this role, and the appointment of Bill as the first step in a new era of Masters hockey. Hockey Victoria CEO, Andrew Skillern was delighted with the appointment, “it’s not every day you get the opportunity to add a life member to your staff. Bill has an incredible amount of hockey knowledge which all of us will benefit from. Our Masters community is vitally important to us and deserves a recourse such as Bill behind it.”
HV will still be serviced by both Men’s & Women’s organising committees. We will look to enhance the great work they do by providing the support of Bill. Both committee’s have recently undergone some change, with new chairs, Nanette Latta (Hawthorn) & Rod Tansey (Mentone), stepping up to lead their ranks.
Not too late to get involved in State Team action.
Registrations are still open for 2025 State Team Selection
