Vale Michael Craig (1931 – 2023)
Hockey Victoria is deeply saddened to hear of the recent passing of Michael (Mike).
Mike’s achievements are like no other. He was Captain of the Australian Men’s team at the 1960 Rome Olympic Games, a top level coach for decades and one of the greatest ambassadors for Hockey in Australia.
Mike is a Life Member of both Hockey Victoria and Hockey Australia and the Hockey Victoria Under 16 Boys Shield Best & Fairest Award is named after him. Along with this, Mike was named Captain of the Camberwell Hockey Club Team of the Century in 2000 and is a Life Member.
Hockey Victoria would express our deepest condolences to Mike’s family at this very sad time.
