Vale Annie Anderson

HV is deeply saddened by the passing of Annie Anderson. Annie is widely known to the Victorian & South Australian hockey community servicing the South West and North West Victorian hockey community.

A familiar face to our regional Affiliates, Annie’s passion for hockey was infectious. There was not a weekend of hockey go by in Regional Victorian hockey where Annie’s Hooked on Hockey van was not pride in place by the side of a hockey pitch. Annie loved playing and coaching the game. More recently giving Hockey 5s a go and playing in Warrnambool & District Hockey 5s competition on a Wednesday night.

Annie was also the heart of HVs Goal Keeper Development as part of our Academy Programs, GK Development Programs and State Team Selections. Annie was simply brilliant with the kids applying the upmost energy and support to the emerging goal keepers in Victoria.

We will miss Annie’s passionate love for hockey, her quirkiness and what a great hockey person she was.

HV will be working with our Regional Associations in the coming months to determine an appropriate way to honour Annie as a hockey community in 2023.
