Renewed representative focus for regional Victoria

Published Wed 03 Mar 2021

A new and exciting opportunity is now presenting itself to experience what Vic Country hockey is all about.  Regional enthusiasts have an opportunity to represent your state doing what you love.

Since 2019, Hockey Victoria has reviewed all of its supplementary representative programs and committed to implement some subtle changes to ensure a sharper focus on each program.

Our country state program is one of much loved and key programs. Our ultimate aim is to improve the experience for players and give regional Victoria a greater chance of success. We want to continue to build the culture of our men’s and women’s teams and we want to involve more people and key stakeholders in this process.

Long-time country advocate Mick Gulson has been appointed to the new position of Hockey Victoria Country Rep Coordinator. He will be in charge of preparation across the men’s and women’s programs, particularly as we build toward the Championships at Albany, WA this August.

To kick things off we have we will be taking our programs to the regional communities with:

  • 4 Regional Zone Development days run by Vic Country men’s and women’s coaches, current and past player

We want all players to buy-in and become involved in taking our brand, and promoting our opportunities, to our country regions

  1. Shepparton (North East) March 13

           Bendigo (North West) March 14

These sessions will also assist to identify potential Hockey Victoria Country talent that will be invited along to Country State trials.

We want you to be involved.

There are great people involved in the Hockey Victoria Country community. You are one of them, and we value your involvement.
