Register now for Specialised Skills and Development Program

The Hockey Victoria High Performance Specialised Skill Development Program is back! This program will provide athletes with the opportunity to improve their skills and techniques from qualified and experienced National and International coaches. 

The first Specialised Skill program block will run across four Sundays in May\June, two 1.5-hour timeslots for U16 and 17+ athletes. We will focus on Goalscoring and Goalkeeping in the first two sessions and PCD defense in the second two sessions.

Registrations are now open for 12 Goalkeepers and 24 Goal scorers per age group interested in developing their skills. 

 Field Players

The program will involve a range of goal scoring skills consisting of a variety of shots (forehand, backhand, deflections, rebounds and others) in different areas of the circle. 

For the PCD skills we will be working on all 4 different positions during the Penalty Corner Defense and its variations.

Players will be coached by our Hockey Victoria Academy Coaches Hockey, Emergency Coaches, many of whom are current or former Victorian representatives at U21 or Hockey One level and have coached in numerous Hockey Victoria High Performance programs. 

Goalkeepers

The program will involve a range of skills consisting of arial saves, kicking drills, footwork and circle movement, close range saves, diving and sliding as well as defending penalty corners concepts and skills.

Goalkeepers will be coached by our Hockey Victoria Academy Goalkeeper Coaches, Emerging Goalkeeper Coaches, many of whom are current or former Victorian representatives at U21 or Hockey One level and have coached in numerous Hockey Victoria High Performance programs.
