Join the Foundation Lead Coach & Umpire Workshop

Are you passionate about Hockey and looking to take your involvement to the next level? Hockey Victoria is thrilled to announce its upcoming Foundation Lead Coach workshop on 3 July and the Foundation Lead Umpire assessment from 28 June to 2 July at the Junior State Championships (JSC). This is an incredible opportunity to become an accredited coach or umpire, opening doors to exciting new possibilities within the sport.

To kickstart your journey, the first step is to create a Hockey Ed Account on the Hockey Australia website. The link can be found at Get Started | Hockey Australia. By doing so, you will gain access to Etrainu, where a range of courses awaits. Whether you aspire to become a Foundation Lead Coach or a Foundation Support Umpire, these courses are designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills required to excel in your chosen role.

1. Foundation Support Coach:
   • Assessment/Workshops: Online Theory (2-3 hours)
   • Price: $0.00
2. Foundation Lead Coach:
   • Course Steps:
     • Complete the online theory course.
     • Book into a Workshop where the assessment will take place.
   • Assessment/Workshops: 2-3 hours (4 hours total, including 2 hours of skills revision and 2 hours of group assessment)
   • Price: $123.50
3. Foundation Support Umpire:
   • Assessment/Workshops: Online Theory (2 hours)
   • Price: $0.00
4. Foundation Lead Umpire:
   • Course Steps:
     • Complete the online theory course.
     • Book into an Assessment.
     • Umpire a game at any level.
   • Assessment/Workshops: 2-3 hours
   • Price: $80.00

Before enrolling in your desired course, make sure to review and fulfill any prerequisites or requirements. Once you have successfully enrolled, you will receive instructions on how to access the online component of the course. This online component can be completed at your own pace and convenience before the scheduled workshop dates.

Throughout the year, your Zone Developer or Foundation Facilitator will host workshops, and you will be notified of these dates. You will have the opportunity to select a workshop date through Etrainu, ensuring it aligns with your availability.

To achieve accreditation, you will need to complete the assessment with your Zone Developer or Foundation Facilitator. This step is crucial as it demonstrates your proficiency and understanding of the course material.
