Investment in Regional Hockey Growth

Hockey Victoria (HV) and Hockey Central Victoria (HCV), North Central Hockey Association (NCHA) and Goulburn Valley Hockey Association (GVHA) have signed off a 12-month plan to grow the game in those specific areas. In the last 12 months, the areas have seen a significant decline in participation off the back of the COVID-19 pandemic. All three Associations have typically been a strong hockey region with great facilities, and the aim is to bring further events and create participation opportunities so the region can sustain future growth.

The launch of HV’s Regional Project, will see a dedicated, full-time resource work with three regional-based Hockey Associations and their respective Clubs over the next 12 months. The launch of this project will be the first of its kind in Victoria with an aim to grow the game and drive increased participation in the area.

HV’s Club Development Manager, Jason La Rocca believes this is a game changer for regional Hockey, “We are genuinely excited on the potential of this project and look forward to seeing more Hockey sticks in hands over the next 12 months”. As well as increasing participation, the project will assist Associations with strategic planning, participant retention and special projects catering for each Association.
