Indoor Club Championships Under 15’s Wrap-up

After a brief break in the Indoor Club Championships due to the snap lockdown last weekend, it was great to be back in action this weekend with the Under 15 Boys & Girls Indoor Club Championships.

It was a strong competition with 19 teams competing in the Event, a total of 50 matches completed and a whopping 357 goals scored over the weekend.

The two Gold Medal Matches were a fitting conclusion to the Event. In the Under 15 Girls, TEM took on Powerhouse St. Kilda, with both teams undefeated in the pool stage and then winning their semi-finals. TEM dominated early and were eventual winners in a commanding position (6-3). Congratulations to both teams on a fantastic weekend of Indoor Hockey.

In the Under 15 Boys, we again saw two undefeated teams battle it out, the game laid in the balance until a penalty corner after the siren. It was a thrilling finish, with Waverley taking home the Gold Medal and MCC Hockey Section being the Runner up (1-2). Congratulations to both teams on their efforts not only in the final, but also across the course of the weekend.

Thank you to all of the Umpires that officiated across the course of the weekend, and a special mention to the following Umpires that were appointed to the Gold Medal Matches.

Thank you also to all the Technical Officials that ensured the matches ran smoothly, to all the parents that volunteered to act as Judges and the Umpire Coaches.

It was also fantastic to see some clubs competing in the Indoor Club Championships for the first time at a Junior level, so a big congratulations must go to PEGS and Brunswick. We look forward to seeing you back at the Indoor Club Championships later in the year.

We now look forward to the Under 18 Indoor Club Championships which will run from Friday 26^th February through to Sunday 28^th February. Following that we will have the Under 13 Indoor Club Championships which has been rescheduled and will now take place on Saturday 12^th March & Sunday 13^th March.
