HV and News Corp announce landmark broadcast deal for community sport

Hockey Victoria (HV) and News Corp have announced a landmark media deal that will see more access to live Hockey than ever before.

The agreement will see HV’s 2021 Game Clothing Premier League, Junior State Championships (JSC) and Junior Country Championships (JCC) broadcast exclusively to News Corp subscribers.

The partnership will showcase one weekly Premier League Men’s and Women’s game of Hockey, in addition to the JSC and JCC across three age divisions held throughout May and July.

The commitment is a win for all parties, which will showcase the HV Premier League to even more viewers with 54 live games on News Corp platforms. Previously, games have been shown live on Facebook and Livestream.

“We are eager to grow the game of Hockey and the sport’s profile through the coverage of our Premier League and Junior State and Country Championships.”

My Sport Live (MSL) will continue to produce the coverage and this extends the long-standing partnership with Hockey Victoria (HV) since 2015.

Details of the agreement include:

Exclusive livestream of two Premier League matches weekly; one Men’s & one Women’s match.
Games will be accessed across The Herald Sun & Geelong Advertiser.
A paid subscription is required to view LIVE games. Pricing changes through the year but the current joining rate is $12 for the first 12 weeks!
News Corp will publish preview stories & weekly round-up of matches including exclusive replays.
Subscribers will be able to access the Hockey content from other states in addition to the news content.
Subscribers get access to news.com.au content including: SuperCoach, +Rewards system, the digital editions (print replicas) of News Corp papers (excluding The Australian), online puzzles & every news story.
