Published Tue 06 Dec 2022

Hockey Victoria (HV) would like to Congratulate Phil Burrows on his appointment as women’s head coach of the New Zealand Vantage Black Sticks.

Burrows is no stranger to New Zealand Hockey with his international career spanning 16 years which included 343 international caps.

HV CEO Andrew Skillern said, “I am delighted to see Phil get the opportunity to coach his own country’s National team and I am sure he will thrive in the new role. Phil brings a wealth of experience that will be sorely missed at HV but we wish him all the best on the international stage.”

Over the past five years, Phil has played an integral role in HV’s athlete development programs, academies, state teams and as HC Melbourne women’s head coach.

Phil will finish up in his role for HV on 13th of December whilst looking forward to a big international calendar of 20 international tests in the first half of 2023.

All the best, Phil!
