From 11:59pm on 31 May some changes come into effect for hockey, in line with the Restricted Activities Direction. Allowing
outdoor activities to be held with groups of up to 20 people (2 zones of 20 per pitch) while still maintaining social distancing
rules is the most relevant announcement relating to hockey.
Guided by the State Government advice, Hockey Victoria have amended Return to Hockey Guidelines (linked below) to provide direction to all affiliates in regards to resuming hockey activities.
Hockey Victoria have submitted the Return to Play Plan to Sport & Recreation Victoria on behalf of the sport.
It is the responsibility of every affiliate to ensure the safety of its participants, members, volunteers and
staff, and ensure it operates within the current restrictions. Hockey Victoria strongly recommends to its
affiliates to hold off on resuming hockey activities until they have reviewed the guidelines and provided
written confirmation to HV as per the instructions on page 3 of the document. We strongly suggest that
affiliates contact their facility owners (i.e. council, school, university) and enquire about any conditions
you may need to meet prior to resuming hockey activities at your facility.
We are aware that Hockey Australia have also published their own Return to Hockey plan & COVID Safety Support Hub , which contains Sport Australia & AIS documentation.
Please contact HV to discuss any queries via email firstname.lastname@example.org
