There will be a number of changes taking place for next year:

  • For Open Men & Women, there will be a Division 1 & 2 offered. Division 1 will be targeted at those teams that typically play A Grade Indoor for the Term 4 Comps. Division 2 will be targeted at the teams that typically play B Grade Indoor for the Term 4 Comps. Clubs are permitted to enter teams in both Division 1 & 2 should they wish to.
  • All of the above Events will be played on full size Courts at the State Hockey Centre and Monash University (Clayton Campus).
  • The Junior Age Groups will align with the Term 4 Indoor Competitions – Under 14s, Under 16s and Under 18s.
    • It is also worth noting that the 2021 age groups will be used for these Events. So you will play in the same age group you were in for the Term 4 Indoor Competitions e.g., if you played Under 14s in the Term 4 Indoor Competitions in 2021, you will play in the Under 14 Indoor Club Championships.

Junior Indoor Challenge

Further to the above exciting changes, in 2022 HV will also be delivering a brand-new Junior Event.

  • The Event will be called the Junior Indoor Challenge and it will be offered for Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16 age groups.
  • It will be targeted at players that play Pennant level Indoor Competitions during Term 4 or those that want to sample Indoor for the first time.
  • Similar to the Indoor Club Championships, it will be a weekend long round robin style Event where teams play multiple matches each day.
  • Some of the formalities of the Indoor Club Championships will be removed and will all be about playing lots of Indoor Hockey and having fun!
  • Teams will be mixed gender, so both boys and girls can play in the same team
  • The dates for the Junior Indoor Challenge are TBC – it is likely to take place over the weekends of 19th & 20th March or 26th & 27th March.

How do I get involved in these Events?

Team Entries are now open for these Events, so get in contact with your club and encourage them to enter a team!
