2022 Hockey Victoria Awards Night recap

Published Mon 19 Sep 2022

It was a momentous night with the 2022 Hockey Victoria Awards Night returning last Friday, 16 September. Not only did this mark the return of the Awards Night since 2019, it also marked the inclusion of the Vic League Awards within the night’s proceedings.

Along with this inclusion, a new venue hosted the evening with the Aerial at South Wharf producing a beautiful atmosphere with the Melbourne skyline lighting up the background behind the presentation.

It was a record turnout for the Awards Night with 350+ people enjoying food, drinks, and the various award presentations through the event. This was bolstered by our MC, Craig Willis, who brought in years of experience being the voice of the MCG and Australian Open. Craig was a true professional who brought in some fun and light-hearted jokes when on stage.

Congratulations to all those who were a finalist or winner on the night. It was great to see you, you friends, teammates, and club cheer and support as you were announced. We hope you all enjoyed the night.

Overall, it was a fantastic night, and we have some special mentions to those involved in such an incredible evening:

  • The Aerial, Natalie and the team of Showtime events for all their support, preparation and work on the night and in the lead up to the event.
  • Harry the Hirer, Kyle, Cory and Ben for the audio and visual setup on the night.
  • All HV sponsors, VIPs, and award presenters in attendance.
  • To all the HV Community who attended on the night or who were an apology for the evening. Without you, it would not have been such a celebration and joyous occasion.
  • The HV staff for their time and effort through it all. It has been a long bounce Winter Season, and it’s always great to celebrate during the Awards Night.
