2022 Finals Information

With the end of the Winter 2022 regular season quickly approaching, we are in full-swing for preparing for our first Finals season since 2019.

The following details provide a comprehensive overview of the structure and scheduling for Finals proceedings for all competition sections.

FINALS SERIES STRUCTURES

Please refer to HV Regulation 6.3.1. for full details on each Method.

JUNIOR COMPETITION MATCHES

Under 12 Competitions:

• Semi Final 3rd September
• Grand Final 10th September

Under 14, 16 and 18 Competitions:

• Semi Final 2nd September
• Grand Final 9th September        

SENIOR COMPETITION MATCHES

Senior Competition Finals will be played as per the below schedule:

Please note, in the event a regional affiliate is involved in finals matches, consideration will be given to the location and time of final with respect to their local competitions including the possibility of matches played on the opposite day to that advised above.

Match Timings:

For Weeks 1 and 2 match times will be determined as part of the fixturing process with consideration to the following:

The earliest time a match will be scheduled in Week 1 and 2 will be 12:00pm

The latest time a match will be scheduled in Week 1 and 2 will be 6:00pm

Vic League Grand Final Day

The Vic League Grand Finals will be run as per the following schedule:

MONDAY MASTERS MATCHES

Masters & Mid Week Competition Finals will be played as per the below schedule:

* Neutral Venues includes Melbourne Sports Centre, Parkville

WEDNESDAY MASTERS MATCHES

FINALS FIXTURE RELEASES

Fixtures will be released by the Tuesday of each Friday night and Saturday of the finals via email to club Secretaries and Junior Coordinators and available to download from the HV website.

UMPIRE and OFFICIALS PAYMENTS

HV will make every effort to roster umpires to ALL Finals Matches.

Reminder also of umpire reimbursement details as contained HV Schedules Section 2 (6.3) - Umpire payments shall be made no later than at the time the umpire is required to sign the match report and shall be made via PayID – payments are not to be made in cash.

EXTRA MATCH TIME

As a reminder – there is no extra time for HV competition finals if at the end of regulation time, the result of the match is a draw.

This means that ALL Finals matches in 2022 in which an outright winner must be established, go straight to Penalty Shootouts if at the end of regulation time, the result is a draw. This would apply to the following competitions;

• Under 12 Shield & Pennant
• Under 14 Shield & Pennant & District
• Under 16 Shield & Pennant & District
• Under 18 District
• Seniors
• Masters

LIVE STREAM & SOCIAL MEDIA

The following matches/days will be live streamed:

Junior Shield Finals on Pitch 1 at Parkville

Premier League Week 1 (at one venue)

All Premier League finals on Pitch 1 at Parkville

Vic League Grand Final Day on Pitch 1 at Parkville

Hockey Victoria will communicate directly with clubs regarding Live Stream requirements

All live streams will be viewable on https://livehockey.com.au/.

ENTRY TO PARKVILLE

In 2022 there will be no gate fee for any participant or spectator to enter Parkville during the HV Finals series.
