HOCKEY VICTORIA PARTICIPATION OFFICERS

We are seeking Participation Officers to work in schools throughout 2025 across several programs:

  • Schools Roadshow (Term 1 and Term 2): Participation Officers will introduce students to hockey in a fun and safe environment and encourage students to join the local Hookin2Hockey program
  • Sporting Schools: Officers will deliver a series of Hockey clinics to a class of primary school students, either during school hours or after school, for a minimum of 4 weeks
  • Access All Abilities: Officers will deliver clinics in Specialist schools and may assist with Interschool competitions
  • HockeyOne game day opportunities

Our POs are often the first contact young people have with hockey and are pivotal to the sport's growth around Victoria. We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic people with excellent communication skills and a passion for engaging juniors.  This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to gain experience and network in the sports or education industry while being flexible around your schedule.

2025 Winter Season – Vic League Coaching Opportunity

Knox Hockey Club seeks expressions of interest for experienced and motivated coach to lead its Men’s Vic League team in 2025 and beyond.

The successful candidate will hold responsibility for organisation a training plan to develop the skills, fitness and knowledge of team and players, the development of game plan and strategies to maximise team performance.

We seek a positive individual who shares the core values of the club and a desire to develop a cohesive men's section from top to bottom.

Responsibilities of the role

  • Plan and run training sessions that focus and achieve improvements to individual and team performance.
  • Introduce and develop game plans to maximise the capabilities and potential of the team.
  • Coach players individuals to assist in the achievement of personal improvement of skills and knowledge.
  • Work with and support players across men’s section, including junior girls, to improve skills and knowledge throughout the wider playing group.

Desirable Qualities

 

  • Hockey coaching experience with open age teams. For the head coach role a minimum of 5 years of coaching experience is preferred.
  • Hockey Australia coaching accreditation.
  • Strong communication skills and a desire to help players to improve with individualised feedback.
  • Capacity to motivate team members to focus and excel in games and training.
  • Knowledge and capacity to teach hockey skills and game strategies.
  • Capacity to undertake game review and provide advice on performance to players.
  • Ability to recognise and respond to tactical changes on game day.

LA TROBE UNIVERSITY HOCKEY CLUB - MENS COACH/ES

ABOUT THE CLUB
La Trobe University Hockey Club is located in Kingsbury, 12km north of the CBD. We have a proud 50+ year history with more than 300 members and 23 teams across juniors, seniors, masters and open. Our newly redeveloped field and lights were opened for the 2021 season, and new $3mil clubrooms are set to commence construction in early 2025, which will ultimately provide the club with one of the best facilities in the State.

ABOUT THE ROLE

With the Men looking for sustainable long term success and to return to Vic League 2 and Vic League 1, the club is seeking a coach to develop our list and take the squad to the next level.  The Men's section has a healthy 6 teams with our Men's Pennant E winning the Premiership in 2024. We have a mix of experienced players, students, locals, and junior players with a vast array of talent and experience.

We are also actively working with the university to recruit new players from on-campus colleges, inter-varsity and students relocating from regional areas to study in Bundoora.

The successful applicant should: 

  • Create and clearly communicate a framework to continue to develop the Vic League squad
  • A strong communicator with both players and the club committee
  • Have a proven ability to develop and motivate players to success
  • Have the ability to develop and implement training schedules for both pre-season and regular season sessions
  • Develop game strategies which foster improvement in the playing group and long-term success at the higher level
  • Work with the club’s administration, selection panel and volunteers and help develop and execute a plan for success from top to bottom
  • Have a minimum Level 1 coaching qualification
  • Have a Working with Children certification

REMUNERATION

Tenure and remuneration are negotiable based on experience. The ideal candidate would be open to a multi-year agreement if both parties are satisfied at the end of the first season.

There are opportunities for additional salary by taking on further responsibilities such as coaching our Juniors Academy, Hookin2Hockey, Masterclasses, or Foundation Classes.

Monash University Hockey Club, located at Monash’s Clayton Campus, is seeking proactive, positive and development focused coaches for their Men’s Vic League 1 and Men’s Vic League 1 Reserves teams for 2025.

After a season of growth and positives in 2024, we are looking for enthusiastic coaches who are committed to further developing the team culture, skills, and abilities of the respective sides.

The successful candidate must have an ability and willingness to work with the coaching teams across the club and will share our commitment to building sustainable and successful teams through high on-field performance and a strong cultural foundation. The successful candidate will also contribute to the development of the whole men’s playing contingent. 

The coach will be supported by great club facilities including training and playing on a newly laid hybrid pitch, Veo camera for filming games and modern AV equipment for reviewing game footage. Remuneration is dependent on experience and incorporates a development budget.

North West Lightning Hockey Club is seeking expressions of interest for highly motivated and experienced individuals to join our coaching team, to train and guide its hockey teams for the 2025 season and beyond. Background: North West Lightning Hockey Club is a representative team that gives players from north west Victoria the opportunity to play in a high level Hockey Victoria competition. The teams are based in Bendigo but draws on players from Sunraysia, Wimmera, North Central, Central Vic and Goulburn Valley associations who train and play in Bendigo.

 

We are a family club, offering programs for all levels of players and pride ourselves on being welcoming and inclusive.

 

North West Lightning fields teams in the Men’s and Women’s Hockey Victoria Competitions, Hockey Victoria Junior Pennant Competitions, Junior State Championships and has Development Academies in each association, as well as offering Elite Academies for players aspiring for State representation.

Specific responsibilities of the Head Coach

In leading the program, the Head Coach of the Women’s and Men’s programs will work with the NWL Committee, their assistant coach, team management and the junior coaches to ensure the following coaching responsibilities are met.

  • Plan and execute game strategies that maximize the team's potential for success.

  • Support the NWL sponsors whenever possible.

 

Desirable Qualities:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in hockey, with a minimum of 3 years of coaching experience preferred.
  • Accredited coaching certifications or qualifications, including a Hockey Australia ‘Advanced’ or ‘Performance Coaching’ accreditation.

Requirements

·       Previous hockey coaching experience with open-age teams.

·       Strong communication skills and a commitment to player development.

·       Ability to teach hockey skills, tactics, and game strategies.

·       Working with children check.

·       Capacity to analyse games, respond to tactical changes, and provide actionable feedback.

·       Availability to attend weekly training and games throughout the season.

Location: Bellbird Park Synthetic Field, Lampard Road, Drouin.

West Gippsland Strikers are the peak club representing hockey within West Gippsland and beyond, with a growing membership and high quality facilities. We are located in Drouin close to the Monash Freeway and are recognised as a key development pathway for hockey players in Gippsland. 

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated coach to lead the development and growth of our Women's Vic League squad. 

 

Position requirements

  • Developing and implementing training programs, including skills based and tactical coaching. 
  • Building a positive and inclusive team culture where all individuals feel valued and respected
  • A willingness to work with a committed core of players and assist with the development of a reserves team.

Qualifications

  • Previous coaching experience at a competitive level
  • Strong communication and leadership skills within a club and not for profit environment
  • A current Working with Children Check

Remuneration commensurate with experience will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
