Hockey Victoria In Schools

What is Hockey Victoria’s Schools Roadshow?

The Schools Roadshow is Hockey Victoria’s annual recruitment drive, run in primary schools throughout Victoria. The majority of the Roadshow is conducted in Term 1 each year in schools close to a Hookin2Hockey centre. Hockey Victoria staff and coaches, with assistance from local representatives, conduct free 40min – 1hr introductory clinics, which teach the basics of hockey in a fun and safe game based environment. All equipment is provided by Hockey Victoria. Students are then invited to attend their local Hookin2Hockey centre to continue their participation in Hockey.

What are the Benefits for Clubs and Associations?

All eligible Victorian clubs/associations who run Hookin2Hockey and Intra-club (or suitable modified competition) can participate in the Schools Roadshow. Hockey Victoria staff book schools, provide and train coaches and provide promotion material used to advertise your Hookin2Hockey Centre. Generally between 500 and 2000 students are visited per Hookin2Hockey centre, with an average of 5 percent of those students joining the Hookin2Hockey program.
