Hockey Victoria have conducted a roll-over of the system in preparation for the 2021 season. Are you nominating for a Hockey Victoria State Team ?

If so, you need to be assessed by our Athlete Identification Officers (AIOs) prior to the naming of the Final Player Assessment Lists. The Elite Skill Development days provide you with an opportunity to be assessed by our AIOs who will be in attendance at these days to conduct assessments. 

Please ensure that you nominate for the relevant State Team before attending these days in order to be assessed. This is important if you aspire to being selected in a state team.  If you do not nominate for the state team, then the AIOs will not assess your suitability to be put forward for state trials.

Do you want some additional skill development?

The Elite Skill Development Days provide you with an opportunity to refine your existing skills, as well as learn some new and exciting ones. You also get the opportunity to train with players of a similar age and ability from a range of clubs.

Which age group do I belong to? 

Whether you are in the U13, U15 or U18 age group, you must be of the age or below on December 31st of the year of the respective national tournament to be eligible to compete.

U15 National Tournament: 9th - 15th April 2021 (Bathurst, NSW)

Extract from HA tournament regulations:

1.5 If the competition is an Under 15 junior competition, a junior player shall be defined as a player who is under 15 years of age on the 31 December of the year preceding the tournament.

Upcoming Elite Skill Development Days

U15 Girls and Boys - Sunday 31st January 2021

BOYS: 1:30pm - 3:30pm (Sign in from 1:15pm)

GIRLS: 3:30pm - 5:30pm (Sign in from 3:15pm)

This Elite Skill Development Day is targeted towards those players who have played at zone level or higher. If you are unsure if these days are suitable for you/your child please contact James McCallum (jmccallum@hockeyvictoria.org.au) for guidance. Players will be placed into groups of approximately 11, based on their age and ability.

All groups will be coached by State and Victoria Institute of Sport players and coaches, many of whom are Hockey Victoria Academy coaches. All groups will complete a range of drills and modified games, then there will be the chance to practice the skills in match play at the end of each day.

What to bring to an Elite Skill Development Day

Participants are asked to bring morning tea/afternoon tea, a drink bottle, hat, sunscreen and a pen to these days.

The cost for the day is $80 which is paid through this form. Please register early as there are limited positions available.
