Hockey Victoria are now accepting nominations from eligible Men's Masters players for the 2025 State Teams to compete at the Australian Championships, Newcastle, September 26th thru October 12th, 2025. 

IMPORTANT MESSAGE:

• Pre-Requisite for nomination is that players have current (2025) HV registration. Make sure that you are registered prior to continuing with this nomination.
• Must include your national player ID in your application

Australian Masters Championships Dates & Location

In 2025 the Australian Masters Championships are to be held at Newcastle Hockey Centre.

• 26 September - 5 October (34+ to 54+ age divisions) 

• 29 September - 12 October (74+ to 79+ age divisions)

• 30 September - 12 October (69+ age division)

• 1 October - 12 October (59+ to 64s+ Division 1 age divisions)

• 2 October - 12 October (59+ to 64s+ Division 2 age divisions)

• Players:
  • Over 59s, 64s, 69s, 74s & 79s – Close Monday 31 March 2025(8am).
  • Over 44s, 49s & 54s – Close Monday 28 April 2025 (8am).
  • Over 34s, 39s – Close Monday 19 May 2025 (8am).

• Trial 1 – Sunday 6th April 2025

What is the player age eligibility criteria?

• Note: New Birth Date Criteria for 2025.
• All players must trial with the age group associated to their birthdate.
• Policy is to pick players in teams associated with their age group.
• Selectors to determine what age group players are selected.
• Age Group is determined by age at 31/12/2025.

When will teams be announced?

• 59s - 79s Teams will be announced by April 21.
• 44s - 54s Teams will be announced by May 19.
• 34s - 39s Teams will be announced by June 9.

When can I try on uniforms for size?

Uniforms will be available for sizing on the trial days.

How do I order uniforms?

A link will be provided to the online uniform shop.

Full instructions will be provided in the selection package.

This would typically be 7-10 days from the team announcement date.

Where is the team Accommodation?

The Victorian contingent will stay at:

• 60s-80s - 291 on King
• 60s-80s - Crown on Derby
• 35s-55s - TBC

How do I book team accommodation?

You will receive a link to the accommodation request web page in your selection pack.

Accommodation requests must be completed within 7 days of the team announcement.

Who organises the travel to Championship location?

Each player is responsible for their own travel.

Who organises the ground travel at the Championship location?

Each team will work out the travel for their team.

Who organises meals at the Championship location?

Each player is responsible for their meals.

What are some of the costs involved in the tour?

PLAYER LEVY approximately $500, which covers:

Training expenses.

HAMC Levies, which includes Team Entries, Ground Hire and Umpires.

Team Management & Medical Support.

When do I meet the rest of the team?

A meeting will be held for each team 7-10 days after the team announcement.

The meeting times will be included in your selection pack.

This meeting will be used to:

• Meet your team manager.
• Meet your team mates.
• Finalise uniform orders.
• Finalise accommodation requests.
• Finalise administrative details.

Conflicting Commitments

Players with known conflicting commitments including other sports, work and/or holidays should put this in writing to Masters Coordinator, Bill West bwest@hockeyvictoria.org.au prior to the Final Player Assessments commencing. 

Who is eligible for selection?

Any 2025 Hockey Victoria member who fits the age category and attends and/or participates in the trial process.

NOTE - the masters state team organising committee can grant exemption from the trial process for reasons such as injury.  Application for exemption should be in writing detailing reasons. Email - mensmasters@hockeyvictoria.org.au

NOTE - Past HV Members now residing outside of Victoria or in regions associated with another HA member association will be able to register with Hockey Victoria as a non-competition playing member - LINK (Should this process request a transfer, please contact support@hockey.org.au, as this query will need to be resolved by Hockey Australia)
