Cranbourne Hookin2Hockey Centre will be entering under 10 teams into the nearest venue based hockey competition for Term 3.

Competition Details

Where: The teams will be entered into the competition at the Dandenong Hockey Centre
When : Saturday Mornings commencing 20 July 2024 for 9 weeks.
Time : 8:15am – 10:15am.

Competition Format

Venue based competitions are played in the Hockey5’s format, requiring only 5 players on the field at a time on a smaller sized pitch. See more details below:

Rule	Under 10s
Pitch Size	1/4 Pitch
Number of Players	5-a-side
Timing	Match: 2 x 18 minute halves (4 minute half-time)
Goalkeeper	Not mandatory
Game Play	• No stoppage of time. • No tomahawks • No Penalty Strokers or Penalty Corners • Below the knee - Any ball above the knee may be considered dangerous. Shots at goal are NOT exempt. • No hits - A slap, where the stick is drawn back no more than 20cm, is permitted.
Penalties	One-on-one “Challenge” Rule (No Penalty Strokes/Corners) In place of what would have been a Penalty Corner or Penalty Stroke, a one-on-one is played: • One defender on the goal line • One attacker with the ball at the half line. • All other players behind the other back line (either side of the goal). • When the umpire blows the whistle, play commences. The usual playing rules apply (no 8 second timing).

Training

To ensure the kids keep up their skills we will be offering training alongside the continuing Hookin2Hockey program on Thursday afternoons at Barton Primary School (4pm-5pm).

The Melbourne Sikhs United Hockey Club will be providing administrative, coaching and umpiring support for both the Cranbourne Hockey Teams and Cranbourne Hookin2Hockey program. As such you may receive communications from them.

Cost

The cost for joining the team and training will be $150 per child.

All participants are required to register at the link below by 30^th June 2024.

Cranbourne Junior Hockey Teams - Hockey Victoria

All participants must have a minmum of a HV Hookin2Hockey membership to participate in Hockey Victoria U8's and U10's Venue Based Competitions.

Uniforms

Uniforms are not required for games however we ask that players wear a white shirt.
