Hockey Victoria are now accepting nominations from eligible Men's Masters players for the 2022 State Teams to compete at the Australian Championships, Gold Coast, September 24th thru October 8th 2022. 

IMPORTANT MESSAGE:

• Pre-Requisite for nomination is that players have current (2022) HV registration. Make sure that you are registered prior to continuing with this nomination.
• Must include your national player ID in your application

Australian Masters Championships Dates & Location

In 2022 the Australian Masters Championships are to be held at Gold Coast Hockey Centre.

Currently, the planned event date range is Saturday September 25 thru Saturday October 9.

Exact dates by division TBA.

Nomination Closing Dates

• Players:
  • Over 60s, 65s, 70s & 75s – Close Monday 4^th April 2022.
  • Overs 45s, 50s & 55s – Close Tuesday 26^th April 2022.
  • Over 34s & 40s – Close Monday 9^th May 2022.

Trial Dates and Times

Trial 1 & 2 to be held at Footscray Hockey Centre.

• Trial 1 – Sunday 10^th April 2022
  • Over 60s – 10:00am-12:00pm.
  • Over 65s – 8:00am-10:00am.
  • Over 70s – 10:00am-12:00pm.
  • Over 75s – 10:00am-12:00pm.
• Trial 2 – Sunday 1st May 2022
  • Over 45s - 8:00am-10:00am.
  • Over 50s – 10:00am-12:00pm.
  • Over 55s - 8:00am-10:00am.

      Trial 3 to be held at KBK - Elgar Rd, Box Hill (adjacent Eastern Freeway)

• Trial 3 – Sunday 29^th May 2022
  • Over 34s - 8:00am-9:30am.
  • Over 40s – 8:00am-9:30am.

What is the player age eligibility criteria?

• All players must trial with the age group associated to their birthdate.
• Policy is to pick players in teams associated with their age group.
• Selectors to determine what age group players are selected.
• Age Group is determined by age at 31/12/2022.

When will teams be announced?

• 60s -75s Teams will be announced prior to Friday 22nd April.
• 34s-55s Teams will be announced by Monday 23rd May.

When can I try on uniforms for size?

Uniforms will be available for sizing on the trial days.

How do I order uniforms?

A link will be provided to the online uniform shop.

Full instructions will be provided in the selection package.

This would typically be 7-10 days from the team announcement date.

Where is the team Accommodation?

The Victorian contingent will stay at:

• Mantra Sun City - 3400 Gold Coast Highway, Surfers Paradise
• Mantra Crown Towers - 5-19 Palm Avenue, Surfers Paradise
• Mantra Towers on Chevron - 23 Ferny Avenue, Surfers Paradise

How do I book team accommodation?

You will receive a link to the accommodation request web page in your selection pack.

Accommodation requests must be completed within 7 days of the team announcement.

Who organises the travel to Championship location?

Each player is responsible for their own travel.

Who organises the ground travel at the Championship location?

Each team will work out the travel for their team.

Who organises meals at the Championship location?

Each player is responsible for their meals.

What are some of the costs involved in the tour?

PLAYER LEVY approximately$450, which covers:

Training expenses.

HAMC Levies, which includes Team Entries, Ground Hire and Umpires.

Team Management & Medical Support.

Accommodation (approximate only)

(Prices based on multi room apartments where all beds are allocated.)

34s-50s - $600-$1,000 per Shared Room OR $1,000-$1,700 per Own Room.

55s-75s - $900-$1,500 per Shared Room OR $1,500-$2,500 per Own Room.

Note: 1,2 or 3 bedroom apartments are available, contact Masters Coordinator for price and availability.

Misc

Flights, Team Kitty, Ground Transport & Food: Approximately $1,000-$1,500.

Uniform: $150 (basic outfit)

When do I meet the rest of the team?

A meeting will be held for each team 7-10 days after the team announcement.

The meeting times will be included in your selection pack.

This meeting will be used to:

• Meet your team manager.
• Meet your team mates.
• Finalise uniform orders.
• Finalise accommodation requests.
• Finalise administrative details.

Conflicting Commitments
