Are you nominating for a Hockey Victoria State Team ?

If so, you need to be assessed by our Athlete Identification Officers (AIOs) prior to the naming of the Final Player Assessment Lists. The Elite Skill Development days provide you with an opportunity to be assessed by our AIOs who will be in attendance at these days to conduct assessments. Please ensure that you nominate for the relevant State Team before attending these days in order to be assessed. There is the option to do this within this registration process. 

PLEASE NOTE - Nominating for state only triggers our Athlete Identification Process.  It does NOT automatically advance you to the Final Player Assessment Sessions.  Notification of suitability to proceed takes place post the ESDD.

Do you want some additional skill development?

The Elite Skill Development Days provide you with an opportunity to refine your existing skills, as well as learn some new and exciting ones. You also get the opportunity to train with players of a similar age and ability from a range of clubs.

Which age group do I belong to? 

Whether you are in the U13, U15 or U18 age group, you must be of the age or below on December 31st of the year of the national tournament to be eligible to compete.

Age eligibility:  The athlete is 15 years or under on the 31st of December 2022, 23:59.  Therefore, if the athlete is turning 16 in 2022 then they are ineligible for this event.

Upcoming Elite Skill Development Days

U18 Women & Men - Thursday 10th February 2022

WOMEN:  5pm - 7pm (Sign in from 4:45)

MEN:  7pm - 9pm (Sign in from 6:45)

All groups will be coached by State and Victoria Institute of Sport players and coaches, many of whom are Hockey Victoria Academy coaches. All groups will complete a range of drills and modified games, then there will be the chance to practice the skills in match play at the end of each day.

What to bring to an Elite Skill Development Day

Participants are asked to bring hockey equipment, a drink bottle, and a hat to these days.

The cost for the event is $80 which is paid through this form. Please register early as there are limited positions available.

U18 STATE TEAM NOMINATION

We no longer provide for State Team nominations via a seperate stand alone registration.

Nominating for state team trials will only be offered to Academy and/or Elite Skill Development Day particpants, or by invitation from HV Senior High Performance Staff under special circumstances.

If you want to nominate for state, you need to select the STATE NOMINATION TICKET within this ESDD registration process.

Hockey Victoria are now accepting nominations from eligible U18 players for the 2022 State Teams to compete at the National Championships, Cairns, QLD, April 6-14 2022.

Please Note: All athletes need to be identified by our AIO staff to trial, this process takes place through our Academy and/or Elite Skill Development Days, 

U18 Boys & Girls Final Player Assessment Days
Assessment 1: Sunday 13th February (Men: 8am - 10am, P2     Women: 10am - 12pm, P2)
Assessment 2: Thursday 17th February (Women: 5pm - 7pm, P2    Men: 7pm - 9pm, P2)

Final Player Assessment Information
1. All players are required to bring a white and a black t-Shirt to the Final Player Assessments. Grey is NOT a good choice of colour.
2. All players are required to arrive to the assessments 15 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time.

$45 nomination fee applies

Financial Commitment
Selected players will be invoiced approx - $3000

The team costs include team equalisation, all training sessions, vehicle transport, flights, meals, physio equipment and accommodation etc. All players and parents must read and agree to Hockey Victoria’s Invoicing, Fee Collection & Suspension Policy to be eligible for these teams.

Conflicting Commitments
Players with known conflicting commitments including other sports, work and/or holidays should put this in writing to State Teams Manager, James McCallum jmccallum@hockeyvictoria.org.au prior to the Final Player Assessments commencing.
