The Stand Out Cup (SOC) is an annual pre-season social event designed to celebrate diversity and inclusivity in hockey and make a stand against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia in our sport. Since its creation in 2015, the event has grown significantly and provided a crucial platform to raise funds and awareness for Proud 2 Play, a not-for-profit organisation that provide essential support to LGBTIQ+ community members.
SOC is the perfect family-friendly event for current and new hockey members, allies, and rainbow people to come and show their support for the LGBTIQ+ community while participating in fun, modified and social hockey matches.

Hockey Victoria’s prestigious Women & Girls Breakfast is a special event that comes around every May. Running for 10+ years, the breakfast is held on the Friday morning in the week of our Women’s Round in Hockey Victoria’s weekly competitions. With either guest speakers, Q&As, or panel discussions surrounding a specific topic, the breakfast is a important date on the Hockey calendar.
The event partners with Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) where money is raised to support their work in ensuring that all Australians who are affected by breast cancer receive the very best care, treatment and support. Leading into the Mother’s Day weekend, the event encourages clubs and associations to carry on fundraising efforts across the weekend’s matches to increase support for BCNA.

The Men’s Health Lunch is Hockey Victoria’s most recent event initiative to increase support and awareness for Men’s Mental Health. The event partners with Movember who take on the three biggest health issues affecting men: mental health, suicide prevention, and prostate/testicular cancer.
Held in August to support the Men’s Round during Hockey Victoria competitions. The Men’s Health lunch is an afternoon event that brings clubs and associations together to hear from Movember and special guest speakers. Overall, the event focuses on the importance on checking in on your male friends and family members, along with yourself, to ensure all understand that men’s health is in crisis and increase support so the largely preventable reasons can be addressed and be made more aware to the community.
