Hockey Victoria prides itself on providing adaptive and inclusive hockey programs which enable a sense of belonging, fun, and friendships for people with a disability while improving their motor and social skills in a welcoming environment.
Hockey Victoria offers a variety of in school Access All Ability programs for students with an intellectual disability, physical impairments, as well as students who are hard of hearing or hearing impaired to participate in Hockey.
For the past 5 years, Hockey Victoria has created strong relationships with the South-East Specialist School Sports Association (SSSSA) and the Northern Specialist School Sport Association (NSSSA) which has strengthened the school Hockey participation pathways for their students.

Teacher Professional Development Workshops
These workshops are designed to provide teachers with the confidence to administer hockey to their students as part of their school curriculum.
This workshop will include:
* Basic skills including goal keeping coaching
* Key coaching points
* Session planning
* Practical assessment
* Match play
* Community Coach Accreditation
Regional Inter-school Hockey Competition
In 2019, Hockey Victoria will again be working in a number of specialist and special development schools across Victoria to provide students with a disability the opportunity to take part in Hockey.
The South-East Specialist Schools Sports Association (SSSSA) run two inter-school Hockey competitions, a competitive competition in term 2 for high functioning students and a development division in term 3 for low functioning students.
The Northern Specialist Schools Sports Association (NSSSA) run a five week competition and offer three divisions to ensure there is an appropriate level to meet all of their students needs.
State Specialist School Carnival Day
In September Hockey Victoria will host our annual State Specialist School Carnival Day, this day was developed 2017 as an extension of the Access All Abilities Hockey program.
The state carnival is open for all specialist and special development schools across Victoria to enter into and compete against each other for the State Specialist School Hockey trophy.

In 2018, Hockey Victoria was excited to have schools from both NSSSA and SSSSA registered to play. As well as a team from regional Victoria, Sale Specialist School.
The day provides students the opportunity to play hockey on a state of the art hockey pitch, while representing their school and potentially be selected for one of Hockey Victoria’s state All Ability Aces teams;

Hearing Impaired Hockey
Hockey Victoria will also be continuing its work with the hearing impaired community in Victoria to provide opportunities for people who are hard of hearing or hearing impaired to participate in Hockey.

Hockey Victoria in partnership with Scope have created a group of communications cards to assist coaches, especially those working with participants with communication difficulties.
These Communication card provide both basic pictures on the front and Auslan signs on the back of the cards. The cards can be downloaded, printed and used on a lanyard during practical on field sessions.
