Junior State Championships player and coach nominations are now being accepted.
After over a decade of the JSC (in the current ten zone format) being held in metropolitan Melbourne, we will see the Junior State Championships head to regional Victoria in 2020.
Greater Shepparton City Council will host all of the boy’s teams and City of Greater Bendigo will host all of the girl’s teams.
The event will now run from Thursday 2nd July to Sunday 5th July, rather than Tuesday to Friday as it previously has been.
Player nominations are now open for all ten zones.
Individuals that nominate will be required to attend a one-off trial run by their Zone to be considered for selection. Exact details of this trial can be found through the nomination link for your Zone.
All selected players then must be available for training sessions on Sunday’s, as well as the JSC which will be played from Thursday 2nd July – Sunday 5th July.
Selected players will be responsible for arranging their own accommodation, should they require it in either Shepparton or Bendigo.
It should be noted that all players that are selected in the 2020 Under 15 and Under 18 Victorian State and Development Teams will be granted an exemption which will see them automatically selected in their Zone team. They must still nominate for their Zone team though, otherwise they cannot be selected.

All selected field players receive a playing shirt and all selected Goalkeepers a Goalkeeper Smock as part of their playing fee. Please note that in 2020, there is a change in Zone Uniform suppliers to Game Clothing (who also produce all of the HV State Team Uniforms). When nominating, you will be required to list a shirt or GK smock size. Please use the sizing guides available on the JSC page on the HV website to assist you in identifying the most appropriate size.
Hockey Victoria are seeking suitably qualified and experienced Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches for all Zone teams participating in the 2020 JSC.
All coaches, should have, or be working towards a Level 1 Coaching Qualification.
They will be responsible for the deliver of their teams training sessions (approximately 5 sessions, typically on a Sunday), assisting with running the trials in their Zone and then coaching of the team for the duration of the JSC itself.
A small gratuity payment is offered to all coaches to assist them in covering some of the expenses that they may incur.
Coach nominations close 10.00am Monday 6th April, with coaches to be announced within a week of that date.
